Travelling after lockdown
The Government has promised a review of international travel on 12th April and with our roadmap planned out lockdown we now have something to look forward to. The biggest question is where shall we go? Who will be open for business?
The earliest date for travel will be the 17th May and here’s where you can go.
Cyprus
Travelling After Lochas announced that it will be open for business to the British tourist from 1st May subject to those travelling having a vaccination. Only 4 hours and 30 minutes away and with several airlines offering daily flights, Cyprus is high on the list for a May holiday.
Spain
The British tourist is really important to Spain’s economy. With popular destinations such as Majorca and Ibiza in the Balearic Islands and Tenerife and Lanzarote in the Canaries, Spain are working hard to ensure these holiday islands benefit from the first tourists after lockdown by pushing for a vaccine passport. The islands have also set up travel corridors with other countries. The Covid rate is low in the Canary Islands making it a safer bet.
Antigua
This Caribbean Island is a favourite for the British traveler. With a beach for every week of the year and close controls on their borders, Antigua is working to ensure the return of UK holiday makers from mid May. Book with British Airways who fly direct and are offering cheap flights to this beautiful destination. Only 8 hours to paradise.
Iceland
A popular destination for UK tourists, Iceland is welcoming anyone who has had Covid or who has been vaccinated. So once the UK opens up travel this will be one of the destinations to book. With a flight time of 3 hours and 15 minutes and plenty to see from volcanic springs and tectonic plates to the famous Northern Lights, Iceland should be on your post Covid list. Book your flights with Icelandic or Easyjet and see what bargains are available.
Greece
Vaccinated persons are welcome in Greece, so as our vaccination program continues more and more people will be able to travel to Greece. Greece are working with the EU and UK government to ensure they do not miss out on another summer of visitors. It maybe that vaccine passports will be required but other options are being proposed such as travel corridors or a negative test before flying. Sun, sand and fabulous food and only 3 hours and 35 minutes with airlines such as Easy Jet and Ryan air. Book early to get best prices.
