Travelling with children at Gatwick Airport

Although Gatwick Airport may not have a 4 storey tall fun slide between floors like Singapore Changi airport, it is however still great for families. From special baby care rooms to designated kid zones, Gatwick Airport has a range of facilities geared towards easing the journey for parents travelling with babies and children.

Above all, it has us! At I Love Meet and Greet we are honoured to be able to provide parents with practical and hassle-free valet parking, which eliminating the need for transfer buses and the worrying of finding a parking space.

All parents will be reassured to know that there are plenty of changing facilities spread across the airport. Gatwick’s special baby care rooms are designed for baby changing and feeding and are indicated across the airport by either a bottle sign or a baby care symbol. These facilities can be found in the check-in area, on the way to the gates, in the transfer area and after passport control. Not only do these facilities have baby changing tables, but also chairs for nursing mothers, as well as small play pens to contain toddlers if their smaller sibling is being fed/changed. Some male and female toilets also have fold-down changing tables, so you’re pretty much covered everywhere across the airport.

Since Gatwick’s recent upgrade, some excellent features have been added to the airport to aid family travel even more. These new facilities include special family assistance lanes which have been created for both arriving and departing flights. Not only do the lanes provide more space for families, but also extra help and support is provided whilst going through security with gestures such as a little help folding up the buggy.

Nobody likes a long wait and when you use us here at I Love Meet and Greet our super efficient service can sometimes leave you ahead of schedule. To make the waiting more pleasant for both the parent and the child, Gatwick Airport offers kids zones in the departure lounges. The zones are well equipped and include an area for the kids to play and watch TV, as well as loads of seats for parents. These can be found upstairs in the South Terminal departure lounge and near Boots Pharmacy in the North Terminal.

Worried about where you can take the kids for a bite to eat? Don’t be. Highchairs and children’s menus can be found at most restaurants, cafes and bars throughout the airport. From oats porridge with jam and banana to chicken goujons and chips, Gatwick has it all!

The airport also has a Gatwick First service which can be bought by those wanting to continue their meet and greet service straight after their valet parking with us. The service provides V.I.P treatment for families wanting an extra helping hand to make their journey more special and stress-free.

If we’ve reassured you that travelling with the kids can be completely stress free, book now with I Love Meet and Greet to ensure you start your hassle-free holiday right outside the terminal.
