What do we miss most whilst we’re on holiday?

For some people there really is no place like home! Even after the most luxurious holidays, for many of us the return home is eagerly awaited. Whether it’s looking forward to getting back into your own bed or making a cup of tea in your favourite mug, there’s lots of things that we don’t realise how much we take for granted until we’re away from them.

At I Love Meet and Greet we asked some of our customers on their return to the airport what they missed most whilst away…

As predicted, the words ‘a good cup of tea’ were uttered a lot! It’s strange that so many of us miss tea and coffee when it’s pretty much available all over the world. It might be the change of water or perhaps the heat that puts us off drinking as many hot drinks on holiday, but one thing’s for sure, nothing beats reflecting over the memories from a trip away over a good cup of tea!

No matter how big or comfy the bed is that you stay in on your trip or how feathered the duvet is, nothing compares to your own bed. Nearly every customer that we spoke to was looking forward to getting back into their own bed.

The most popular response we got was that people missed their dog the most whilst away! It turns out that the majority of female dog owners missed their pets more than their partners, friends or family! It’s not just our customers either, as skyscanner.net surveyed over 1,000 dog owners and found that while 32% men missed their partners whilst away, only 21% of women returned the gesture! Instead 37% of women put their dogs first! It doesn’t stop there, as 40% of people went on to admit to texting home to check if their fluffy loved ones were okay and a further 14% confessed to ‘chatting’ to their pets on the phone so that they could hear their voice!

We were glad to hear that not many people missed their cars! It’s a good job that we love and care for your cars at I Love Meet and Greet whilst you’re away! On the off chance that any of you do miss your car as much as your dog… Feel free to give us a call and we’ll make sure your four-wheeled associate knows you’re thinking of it!
